Depends on the wife and booze > blooze every time.
I somehow missed this till Marqueemoon bumped this...

Fair enough...Personally I have no intention of turning to the blooze, but I'm sure I am a horrible segment myself:
Creative Industry Shoe Gazer? Jazzmaster Tremolo Abuser? Flatwound Officinado? Self indulgent neonostalgic dimwit? Pedal Pornographer? Basement Guitar Abuser?

Assuming that's really a vintage Fender and not some 'relic' partcaster, it's possible that those ferrules are all original, wonky/misaligned holes and all.

Personally, big frets are a deal breaker for me.

Also, 7+ String guitars. If you want to play the bass, go play a bass.

Replacing strings with the exact same kind and somehow finding some frets are buzzing and you gotta do some setup work... :fp: ::) :-/ :squint:

The ugly ass tort that Fender Custom Shop uses, particularly when paired with classic custom colors.

Oh yes, this. They can painstakingly recreate every detail of a pre-CBS guitar, except nobody seems to notice or care that half the surface area of the body is covered in the same cheap imitation you can find on Squiers.

It actually has a white guard, but pearl dots. :fp:

Tiny pedals.

My favourite pedals are massive and weigh a tonne, on a psychological level it just doesn't feel as significant when you stomp down on something the size of a relatively small chocolate bar and on a practical level, if you wander off, they'll just kind of dangle from your lead in an undignified way.

Guitar Center. Can’t try any guitars out that doesn’t have grimy strings & are nowhere near in tune. Have your kid wash their hands after they rub one out, before entering the store. Then I have to find a crappy squak box amp with a built in tuner.

Other forums. Thanks for your NGD review on your Walmart Sawtooth Tele & why it’s superior to anything Fender CS puts out.

Cover bands. ‘nuff said.

Radio: Haven’t listened to you in 15 years, & now you wan’t me to pay for it. Fuck off.

DJ’s: Self serving, sociopath, super ego, Howard Stern spawned, local “taking it to the EXTREME” radio statio DJ. You’re being phased out like a toll booth worker. You can’t make it at comedy the way the Guitar Center staff can’t make it at music.

Classic rock: Ppl stuck in that stale ass biased bubble. Also, their generation of music is the “best” music generation.

The grocery store dudes: I have to stop wearing guitar gear shirts because of other musicians approaching me. Just because you play an instrument doesn’t mean I have to jam with you. Keep your business card.

The “Made in USA” guy: Only plays MIA guitars, while their house furnishings, appliances, clothing, electronics, cat litter, & 60% of their domestic vehicle is foreign. Thanks for your patriotic rant from your Chinese computer. Global economy, deal with it.

MF / GC guitar reviews: “I’ve been playing guitar for 80 years & have played them all. Owned vintage Fenders, Gibsons, Taylors, Martins, PRS, and this $129 guitar smokes them all! It’s amazing how much guitar you can get for the money!” Reality: I lost everything in the divorce, but now I got a guitar & money left over for drugs & scratch tickets.

Strats: NGD Strat. Just stop. We’ve seen every fucking possible color, pickguard, fretboard material, & pickup type configuration imaginable.

Youtube Dad & Kid Jam: Yup, dad ain’t trying to live his failed glory through his conditioned kid.

The Clone: Help me get the exact sound of “insert guitarists here” so I can get my own original & unique sound.

The Tall Fuck: You manage to find the shortest person in the crowd (me) to stand in front of so you can talk to your 4’ 8” gf. Thanks Manute Bul.

The Sappy Drivel Acoustic Cover: Oh look how trendy I am, I did a slowed down acoustic cover of a hit song. Please tell me I matter. I really want my cover to be used to sell Volkswagons.

The Band That Doesn’t Know They Suck: Your band sucks. Your perception of yourselves is not how others see you.

It's for the people that admire musicians, not the musicians amiright? It's like when I wear my do you even lift, bro shirt- I'm always getting dudes telling me how much they bench when I really just want chicks to know that I lift (I don't lift or have this shirt, I'm a liar).

Oooh, yes! I had such a guy here in Belgium, he was raving about this Gretsch he was playing, "yeah man, American quality man, it's the best guitar in the world, amazing value for money, true honest labour,..."

Then I pointed him out to the serial at the back at the headstock... "Made in Japan".

He became very red very quick... and very embarrassed!

ok. so while not a pet peeve, it's more one i see a lot. people will go into a guitar shop and try out a guitar, play nothing but covers, buy the guitar.... then a few weeks later will say "it does not work for my band's style of music" and try to sell it on.

so you did not think to try some of your own band's stuff on the guitar to make sure it would be in the right ball park? i rarely play other peoples music when i try something out. i want to make sure it will do my style first.

I mean, it's ok to bash out whatever's in the front of your memory but yeah, I'm more interested in how a guitar makes me sound than how it sounds when I play the same old stuff on it.
