Charcoal Frost + which Pickguard ?
Assembled my new Jazzmaster build - rexter did a great job with the finish: the Charcoal Frost really looks gorgeous
The neck is a TVL B&B neck
Installed Curtis Novak JM90 in the neck and a JMCC in the bridge
Currently no rhythm section - just dummy switches
but I'm really undecided on which pickguard to go with...
I like the tort - looks great with the depth and without any yellow in it but my girlfriend says it looks boring because I always put tort on most of my Jazzmasters
She thinks pearloid white looks more extraordinary and would go with that
I wanted to try white, cream and mint also but I've sent all my pickguards off to Deed_Poll form him to trace them for his templates so for now GIMP mockups have to suffice (sorry for that)
What is OSG'S opinion to charcoal frost - especially when it has a greenish tint?
oh I forgot to mention the matching headstock :

+1 on tort. Mint would be my second choice.

Out of the choices I'd go mint but not as minty as the one pictured.
To be honest, I'd actually go off-white/parchment.

Would have said mint, but from the pictures, tort looks the best to me

This is the same pickguard but from a different phot - guess it's the light/cameraPorkyPrimeCut wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2017 5:47 amOut of the choices I'd go mint but not as minty as the one pictured.

I'm hesitant about mint because I think it'll looke weird with the stark white binding... don't you think?

I have been contemplating a CFM finish from rexter and pairing it with a black pickguard...don't forget that that's an option. Black with either black or white pickup covers and knobs could look great.

Personally, I wouldn't be too concerned about the binding as you've got white knobs & pickup covers.
OK, they're off-white but I still think it'd look OK. Alternatively, just go with a white guard. I'm a bit of a purist.

Mint, but a lighter mint. Too green and it looks weird with the blocks.

You know what? You could be on to something here. I saved this Danocaster picture from months ago...
Jaw-droppingly gorgeous!
