Saw this locally on craiglist...
April '65 Fender neck, sanded down widthwise to be a 4 string banjo neck. On a banjo made from a skillet. Maaaaaaan there's no going back from that.

Honestly, the ingenuity and creativity is kind of impressive. I'd wager that neck was picked up for next to nothing, or even found, during a period when such an item was almost worthless, couldn't afford to buy a banjo and made what he could out of what was available through rummaging and scavenging.

Was there any history as to it's creation in the listing?
Why not reshape the headstock after you shave the neck down? Needed to keep that original Fender logo stock?!? Lol. Looks extremely weird to me with those empty peg holes.

What’s irritating me is that he should be using the middle four.

Has this beauty been posted yet? That's a 64 Mustang neck.

Could be turned into a Neko Case style tenor guitar...

Looks like it's time to reseason the body on the shreddy Crocker.

That's one way to keep a neck from wiggling.

I had a Lead for a little while - I can understand the drive to glue the neck in place!

This is either genius or insanity. I'm not sure which. Looks like they did a super clean job of it too.

We don't often see the culprits in action. Here are two of the best in the biz, so we can cut them some slack.

Geddy Lee with what's left of a '69 Precision:

Currently on reverb
Halfway to a Bryan Giles Signature Model. Add humbuckers, drop a string.
