My Tele thinline is almost done, although I have this weird problem with it – it has a cat stuck to the headstock. Anyone else had this problem?

Cats: bogarting headstocks since 1951.

Here’s mine. This started out as a 52RI I bought new around 2000.
At this point just the body and neck are the only things left. Refinished, Parsons/White B Bender. Hardware swapped out gradually over the years experimenting.
My Creston Special.
This thing floors me every time I pick it up. Creston is building really great stuff.
Chambered sugar pine. Fralin hum canceling p90’s. Creston’s B5 vibrato.

Yep, that Creston rules. I keep thinking about ordering something. I could definitely go for some kind of Tele with a Bigsby.
Also, Teles kick ass. I haven’t had one for a while, but I’m about to rejoin the club with this thing!

^ Now that's a beaut. Something about the pole arrangement on the WRHBs and the 4 knobs always fit so well aesthetically for me.

Thanks! I’ve always been a sucker for these, but this will be my first one with “real” WRHBs. I had a reissue I put the Lollar Regals In but it didn’t quite do it for me.kamillebidan wrote: ↑Thu Mar 01, 2018 6:35 pm^ Now that's a beaut. But I kept coming back to this dumb video -

And that’s just sort of one of THEE sounds I’ve always looked for, and my main amp is a Super Reverb, so...I just had to go for it! Luckily, I managed to snag it at a pretty reasonable price via Reverb.

Most recent addition, a '52 reissue, sounds really amazing. My MIM will have to go now.
A partscaster, with Sunday Handwound Pickups (Timbo), MJT body and a neck that was supposed to be a temp, but looks like it will stay there.

Nice! I dig the WRHB tone.loudwizard wrote: ↑Thu Mar 01, 2018 5:53 pmYep, that Creston rules. I keep thinking about ordering something. I could definitely go for some kind of Tele with a Bigsby.

The whole Creston build was a fun experience. He’s a really talented guy. I’ve been into what he does for quite a few years and finally decided to just go for it. I went in super open to his suggestions and this is what we ended up with.

Far out. I know I have some idea that’s going to take a custom build, but I’m just not there yet. And considering I just bought the Tele Deluxe *and* a ‘62 Jazzmaster refin, I may be good for guitars for a while....Chew wrote: ↑Thu Mar 01, 2018 7:51 pm

Not a dumb video at all! I actually really dig the dark sounding riff he's playing, and that tone!! I hope one day to get some "real" WRHBs, since despite what I hear about repros that are "similar" sounding, I don't think you can truly beat the real thing. Congrats!

Thanks! And yeah, I just love that sound. So nice to see a youtube vid of a Super Reverb that isn't Bass 0, Mids 8, Treble 8, with some dude in a kimono playing SRV licks.kamillebidan wrote: ↑Thu Mar 01, 2018 9:14 pmloudwizard wrote: ↑Thu Mar 01, 2018 6:58 pmThanks! Re: Forgot how much I love Teles, AKA Tele Appreciation Thread
Here is one of my Telecasters, very Larry'd up, it's a '62 AVRi Custom Telecaster with an Ilitch noise cancelling pickguard, Mastery bridge, locking tuners, and a Hipshot B and G bending system with a drop-D lever on the bass E string:
I have an American Standard outfitted somewhat similarly, no Mastery though, and the Hipshot stuff is a little different.

Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Loving the Creston at the top of this page!
A customer just posted some pics of his finished build using a body I painted for him in lightly aged Inca Silver. Of course I'm biased but I think this is one of the best looking tele builds I've seen in a long time! I'm tempted to go Inca Silver for my personal build now.
