NGD - Collings 290
Instant new #1. This thing just plays and sounds sooo good.
Bigsby and Vibramate on the way, but if it takes anything away it will come right off.
So good! I want another one already.
Firebird bridge pickup in one? Definitely.

Nice! What’s the neck profile like on these? Collings stuff looks so classy!

I haven't had the pleasure of playing a Collings electric yet, but I do have a 12 fret Waterloo acoustic (Made by Collings) and it is imo the nicest sounding acoustic I've ever heard. I'd love to heard a clip of your new baby if you have the chance

Neck profile is thick if not quite baseball-like. Fits great in my hand.
And I have a Waterloo as well! I’ll have to see if I can manage some clips.

Nice Collings!
I've played a few Collings electrics - like their acoustics, Collings just don't make bad guitars. I played one of their LP models (can't recall the name) a few years back - it was a fantastic guitar, but I played it back to back with the single best Les Paul I've ever played (a cherry red finish Murphy aged '58 reissue* that was just the biggest outlier of a guitar that I've ever encountered) and next to that total freak of a guitar the Collings never really got a look in.
* that '58 reissue is still The One That Got Away as it had already been sold when I got a chance to play it... if it had been for sale it'd be living at Despot Towers right now.

Hey, beautiful 290. Did you install the Bigsby and vibramate in the end? I'm kinda curious because I wanted to try the same thing on my 290. Just don't know which Bigsby would fit without drilling. Would love to hear about your experience.

I imagine it’s the Bigsby B5 w/ a Vibramate V5, so no drilling is required. The Duesenburg Les Trem 2 & Duesenburg Diamond Deluxe are worth looking into. The D.D. is supposed to be an improved version of the B5, and better looking too IMO.

Thanks a lot I will check them out. I used to have a Düsenberg Phonic before and I remember the Vibrato Unit was really great and effortless.

It was an amazing guitar. A bit too much bling bling for me. And on Duesenbergs I really don't like that they have their Logo so many times written all over the guitar. I think it's 6 times. One is enough already
