I find the 90 degree edges to work well with the cabinet, I would just knock the sharpness off with some 220, but I can not see what is in your head, I just got one photo to go off of. It will be a fun synth either way.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 27, 2018 7:27 pmThanks man! I keep forgetting how outdated that picture is too. Since I took it, I've added a cover for the back of each case. I'm hoping to have it glued up and maybe get the round-overs done this weekend too. If I get all that done, I'll be able to start staining too.

Re: Shadoweclipse13's New Project Thread!
Oh, I intend to. That's just how it is after rough cut and assembly. Every edge will be getting a small round-over. What inspired me is the old-school Moog System 55:
Since I'm building the core of my synth as a MiniMoog Model D "clone", I wanted an aesthetic that screamed "Moog" as well. Basically, I just wanted this in a smaller and Eurorack format. I'll have the little garage for the keyboard too, but it will likely be a slightly deeper skiff-style box with Eurorack modules in it (what I posted a few posts above as my "control module board" (the one with the black rack with hinges on the back) instead of a keyboard.

Well that explains why the sharp corners looked right, Bob programmed them into me, sneaky sneaky.

Re: Shadoweclipse13's New Project Thread!
This is where it's at right now. There's a crack along/close to the glue line after I tried the "boil-in-the-bag" method of getting the paint out of the cavities. I moved about a month ago and am finally just getting my shop back in order. It's right near the top of my to-do list. I've got all the parts and everything else ready to go, once I re-glue that line and finish stripping/sanding the rest of the old paint off. It's been a rough few weeks with a few things, but I'm hoping that'll be my next project once the garage is organized.

I know you usually prefer a bigger pickup at the neck, but what would put in this were it a righty?s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 11:54 pmi've said it before but put in my pickup config and i'd rock the hell out of that..... if it was also right handed

maybe something like a p90 in the bridge and a mini humbucker in the neck?Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 12:15 amI know you usually prefer a bigger pickup at the neck, but what would put in this were it a righty?s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 11:54 pmi've said it before but put in my pickup config and i'd rock the hell out of that..... if it was also right handed
i've also had good experences using a hot tele pickup in the bridge and a PAF in the neck.
but if i had that body, i'd stick the short scale conversion neck on it, paint it violet over black.

Re: Shadoweclipse13's New Project Thread!
That'd be rad. I could see it in a different life as violet over black with a Tele bridge and mini-humbucker in the necks_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 12:46 ammaybe something like a p90 in the bridge and a mini humbucker in the neck?Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 12:15 amI know you usually prefer a bigger pickup at the neck, but what would put in this were it a righty?s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 11:54 pmi've said it before but put in my pickup config and i'd rock the hell out of that..... if it was also right handed
