NGD 1965 Fender Mustang Dakota Red - LEFTY PIC HEAVY
Here's my latest eBay snipe. I originally bought it so I'd have a beat up Mustang to swap parts off if I needed to, but I instantly decided I could never do that to this guitar. There's a reason this had so much play wear… because it plays f'n amazing! Super smooth neck, low action, warm pickups. Man oh man, she's a good one. Question though: I'm not sure about the decal on the headstock. Looks too fresh to be original to the guitar, and some of the patent/design numbers are different or in different places when I compare it to my other Mustangs. Could this be because it's a '65, which is the earliest of my other four? I included a picture of my '67 in Dakota Red (her squeaky clean sister) for comparison:

Great score. I never figured those had anything other than the simple "Fender" decal and until I saw the picture of your 67 , thought you supposed a fake due it not being that.
King Buzzo: I love when people come up to me and say “Your guitar sound was better on Stoner Witch, when you used a Les Paul. “...I used a Fender Mustang reissue on that, dumbass!

Too cool Lokalfuz. Did you get a case with this one too? The decal looks ok to me, spacing of Pat numbers and all.

cool, how do the necks compare? I'd guess the 67 is a bit fatter and a tad wider at the nut, or?

No OHSC with this one, unfortunately. I'll definitely look your way if I ever need to sell one or two

The '65 is thinner for sure, most of the finish is wore off so it plays like butter. But that's not to discredit the '67's neck, I like them both, just in a different way!PJazzmaster wrote:cool, how do the necks compare? I'd guess the 67 is a bit fatter and a tad wider at the nut, or?
