Spitfire Strat Finished!

Post by HNB » Mon Dec 31, 2018 2:24 pm

Mark was selling this guard on instagram. I saw the first post where he was selling it and had the urge to buy, but held off.... when I saw him post a second time it was for sale still I didn't have as much strength resisting. It is a HSS guard with heavy relic and warping. Really nice color and mixing. I was visiting my dad when I got it and asked him what color body would look best with it. He thought black, so I picked up a US Fender strat body. Both came in today and look awesome together!

Nice, I wish tort would look good with either of my JMs (both Firemist Silver), makes me want to find a deal on an Olympic white JM.

Did some aging on the plastic pieces. Should look nice with the guard.

Got the single coil pickups in. They are ceramic ones that I liked from an Indonesian Strat. Got pots and switch mounted. Still need to solder.

Going to use a neck from another build. I also used the bridge pickup from it. They look good together!

I did resist it the first time I saw it. That counts for something right??

You tried! Hahaha. I only try SO hard, before giving in to something I want. Unless the money is ridiculous or something.

Wiring is all done. Neck is attached with one screw. Once I have strings, I can make sure it is lined up straight before I drill the other three holes. :D ALMOST DONE!!

You need to start a band and get these axes on a stage.

This one turned out really well. Plays great, sounds great, and looks great! :D The Wilkinson bridge with the push in arm is really nice. The pickups sound great. I am really happy with this build. Really happy.
