i just bought a cheap (but nice!) acoustic guitar to take on a humanitarian trip to an orphanage in Guatemala. the plan is we just leave it there for other teams to use.
i got a case with it, to travel and on the sides, up near where the headstock would be, there is a latch on either side.
what do you think they are for?
what's the latch thing for on this case?

If I was a byrd, I'd be mighty sore every time they shut the door and I don't think I'd sing...

That was cheap? It is nice!
Which thing? I think one thing looks like a hook for a shoulder strap, maybe.

From the Teton website: three heavy duty “D” ring latches for case straps are positioned for more versatile carrying options.

thanks, rumfoord for posting that pic. i don't know why it didn't show up for me.
it's a nice looking case. you can feel it's on the cheap side. but it looks great. i don't know if it would hold up for years...but, it will get us to Guatemala. i thought about switching it out and just using my old, beat up case for my takamine and then using this new case for everyday use. but, in the end, we decided we loved that old case with the broken latch and the broken handle replaced with an old belt.
it wasn't expensive. $70 for the case...$320 for the guitar. the guitar feels and sounds great.
and thanks TS, i looked on the website and didn't see that information. you were far more diligent than i was. i would like to see those D latches in action, tho. i can't see how they would be helpful.
