Re: Bob Dylan Electric XII from Blonde On Blonde goes on auction...
I've read Jody Carver's account of this before, and as I recall he was told to bring some of Fender's latest guitar offerings to the studio where Dylan was recording to get some promotional pictures of him with the guitars. You may have seen shots of Dylan holding a Jazz Bass, and this would have been from that same photo shoot. Does anyone know if Dylan actually owned this and that a Fender XII was used on the session? I haven't had the Blonde On Blonde album for a long time. I don't mean to come across as skeptical, but "as seen on the sessions" isn't exactly the same as played on the sessions.

I didn't really "get" Dylan until I was in my '20s... but once I did, there's no going back. Many have come since, but nobody has ever done better than him IMHO. John Wesley Harding and Blood on the Tracks are definitely, DEFINITELY, in my top 5 records of all time. If he owned this XII, that would really mean something to me. And I normally don't give a damn about lineage.
