I really loved that Banksy thing until I realized that it in no way affected the value and was the actual point of the piece. It’s still cool but it’s not like it was sticking it to whatever billionaire dickhead by doing that, though it could have had the thing either burst into flames after going thru the shredder or if he’d put some kind of acid or something that could have seeped out and disintegrated the whole thing.

Whoever believes that a framed picture would not have been carefully inspected and proofed to be real as well as... is catalogued the right English term?... in every last detail by at least two experts before the auction doesn’t know anything about the art world. They knew that the frame was not “normal” and they must have noticed the output slot. The performance was cool, but not completely unexpected to all participants.

No I know, that’s what I was saying. It’s funny that it became this big thing just because like, it wasn’t the Mona Lisa or something, it was specifically made to do that it did, which just makes it the actual piece. Like the story and resulting coverage is definitely part of the piece. I can’t imagine that whoever bought it, if someone actually bought it and it wasn’t just a swerve, was disappointed whatsoever with what happened.

Maybe it's the bridge is wonky. Either way it's wonky. The neck is probably wonky too. But it sounds so good and looks so beautiful!

Goddamn that's beautiful, where did you get it from and when? How much did you pay at the time? Interested to see how the price of them are fluctuating over time.

I got it imported from Austria last year. I was worried Brexit was going to happen so got ahead of the game (at least that's what I said).

I'm not willing to divulge what I paid but I think I paid a fair price given the condition, even if details of the obvious (and slightly shoddy) refret were a bit misleading.

Alright, I admit it, I'm actually impressed with this one. The conversion was apparently done over 35 years ago which makes it excusable, and whoever did the work did a really neat job of it. Not that it matters much as the neck is going to be on some fuckstain's soooooper-unique Jazzmaster project by next week.
