September?!? Can't wait that long! I hope we don't have to.s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2019 2:47 pmso i was actually speaking to a fender rep today and he said their coming in September
Here's the feedback I've recently received:
chicagomusicexchange.com: beginning of May
guitarguitar.co.uk: June
elderly.com: early July
Sweetwater.com: hadn't heard, checking with Fender...
BTW, I ordered an Olympic from CME.

Fender just responded to my online inquiry via email saying “these will begin shipping out July 1st.”

Yup, and more in line with what most vendors were estimating when they were available for pre-order. The fact that I can't find any pre-orders from most sites indicated, perhaps they're already sold out of the first run! Or perhaps they only made a limited number available for pre order. Glad I jumped on it when I did!

BTW, the vendors I've spoken with in the last week have said they are still available for preorder.

I got the impression from the salesperson at Sweetwater that he hadn't even heard about them. He was going to ask Fender about an ETA, but I haven't heard back.

Thanks, Futuron!
Here's a question for folks with experience with vintage XIIs:
Do they neck dive? They must be top-heavy compared to a Jag/Jazz. I'm wondering if the tweaks to the body shape were to adjust the center of gravity to make them balance better: more weight at the opposite end of the lever, slightly adjusted position of the strap connection.
Just a theory. I'm annoyed by the different look, too, but honestly, in the videos, it's hard to notice.

ZERO neck dive. The vintage xii is the most comfortable and playable 12 I’ve ever seen.JAGJazz wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 7:01 amThanks, Futuron!

Pau Ferro is a wonderful fingerboard material, by the way. It's as good as anything else I've ever played, it really comes off more like ebony more than anything else.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Re: Fender Alternate Reality Electric XII 12-String
fender are illarious
when i made my Vi they release the squier one (then i am more in part that a new one!)
and now the XII ,i have mine for 8 years now but carefull it is totally special and mine stay Under the bed for long ,i Don't play music with my band to use it (even my jag is not use ,i am jazzmaster guy)
on the new the shape is altered but for my taste it is not bad,but the news are long time know here ,the gotoh bridge and the stratish neck (on mine the neck is more large cause the real one is really small at the nut )

Same here. I made a VI, and they release one. Then I make a XII and here we are. Ah well, at least I enjoy the build process...
