Hey kids!
Hi. I'm Chris. Been lurking a while, looking at all of your opinions on recent jazzmasters to help me make an informed decision. Recently ordered a blonde 60th anniversary and a mastery bridge for it. Ironically, the bridge came in a week and still waiting after two for the guitar. The dealer promises next week. He hopes. I think. LOL. Anyway, hello!

Re: Hey kids!
I'm absolutely going to post pics of the guitar...once it gets here...we're three weeks into the wait time. I was told "mid-April" by the store. The only reason I ordered it in the first place (instead of just buying a JM in stock) was that the ones the had in stock had the short trem spacing and p90 style pickups...I wanted an instrument with JM single coils and the proper behind the bridge length. Oh well. I call once a week and ask for updates. They just tell me that the order went in on March 29th. Called Fender but they won't divulge details. 'll post pics of the Mastery Bridge when I get home...lol...

Hey Chris! Welcome aboard!
Sounds like a good setup to start with...
For posting pictures you need a site that hosts your pictures. After photobucket suddenly wanted to have money to work properly, I‘ve gone with imgbb.com. Imgur should be working too.
Looking forward to hear your stories and see your guitar once it arrived!
Cheers, Markus

Re: Hey kids!
Ooooh! Nice! I found that mastery bridges work super well almost to the point of overkill, I would recommend Placing a strip foam under the strings behind the bridge if you encounter any buzzing (Ideallywith a new guitar you shouldn't). I'm not sure if its common knowledge or not, but seeing the picture of the bridge fresh out of the box reminded me of it.I have a bridge. Guitar is not in yet. That's a J-Bass pickguard on my bench so that's counts for something
I know its kind of a weird thing to add on here. But I personally had buzzing as an with my mastery and doing this cleaned a good amount.
Can't Wait to see your jazzmaster! Blonde is one of my favorite colors!

Re: Hey kids!
Ok. So this sucks. I called the dealer I went through to order the guitar. They called me back to say that the spoke to their Fender rep and the instrument I ordered three weeks ago is not available. This is after being assured by them (and Fender) weeks ago that there were instruments in stock at the warehouse, ready to ship. I did my due diligence and called once a week to check in. Get the same assurance every time.
Someone screwed up. Now Fender is telling me that there is no timeline for when this color will be available again. I'm particularly pissed at the dealer, who, would have known that none were available when the order was placed but told me 2-3 weeks anyway.
So yeah. I'm not an offset owner. Have a sweet Mastery bridge, though. Oh well.

Update:
Won Ebay auction for same guitar, slightly used. And $300 less. It's getting here this weekend. Woo Hoo! I'll post pics when it arrives...I can't wait to dig into this thing...

Re: Hey kids!
Well that is absolutely gorgeous!
I love the inlays and binding on the fretboard. I have an original '66 with that... was a really nice cosmetic feature, makes Jazzmasters look somehow a bit more elegant when they have it.

Chris -- that is a sweet machine. I have the same one. I am disappointed with the fingerboard on mine and am thinking of dyeing it to an ebony color. Let us know how you like the mastery bridge on it.
