He's always been good at replying to emailed questions. So ask him if his stated E-E spacing of 2-1/16" (52.4mm) on the 7709942000 American Professional bridge is correct. It would be good to get that corrected if it's wrong ... as we believe it probably is.TwinkMingus wrote: ↑Mon Feb 25, 2019 3:06 pmAnyone know the string spacing on this guys AmPro JM bridge?
"Genuine Fender American Pro Jaguar / Jazzmaster bridge features single groove Mustang style saddles and 9.5″ radius. 2-1/16″ string spacing."

I think the spacing for the Marr bridge is wrong on here as well. The Marr bridge isn’t 2-2/16 or 52mm it’s actually 2-2/32 53mm according to Darren’s website. I bought one for my MIJ Jazzmaster and still have low and high e spacing issues.

Just to update the Am Pro bridge (7709942000) story, I believe several posters have now verified that, somewhat contrary to expectations, Riley's stated E-E spacing for the Am Pro bridge he sells is actually correct, or near to it. That was unexpected because it would mean that the spacing was narrowed without a change in part number (unlike the narrower Marr which has a new part number).Severed Hand wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2019 12:44 pmI think the spacing for the Marr bridge is wrong on here as well. But with both bridges having seemingly gone from 56mm to around 52-53mm we haven't been too concerned about 1mm here or there. It's possible that you have a a MIJ neck that is a tad narrow or maybe it's a systemic neck issue. If you haven't already, it may be worth trying a slight re-alignment, ie loosen the strings and neck screws and try to tilt the neck towards the low E (assuming that you're more likely to have an issue with the high E slipping off the edge... if not, ignore). You may also be able to regain a small amount with a new precision-cut nut with slightly narrower nut E-E spacing. As MIJ trems have been reported as sometimes a tad narrow compared to others (check E-E on yours), you could also try filing a little bit off the inner sides of the E saddles, and outer sides of the A and B saddles, to see if the trem pulls the strings a little closer.

I see they're out of stock at DarrenRiley.com. Are there other places in the US where you can buy them (with the 52mm spacing)?

Re: Johnny Marr Jag bridges in stock
The newer Marr bridge (7.25"; # 7712971000) has only been available new from Riley as far as I know. They will also crop up secondhand on ebay end reverb from time to time, as they were put on new Marr jaguars from around 2018 (those sellers will not generally know the bridge part number, so just be sure that it is the newer one with the narrower E-E spacing).
The Am Pro bridge also mentioned above (9.5"; # 7709942000) is available from Riley, Angela, Guitar Parts Factory and possibly others. However as of now our only reports that that bridge now has narrower E-E spacing (~53mm) come from bridges bought from RIley; in any case, check with the vendor.

Also updating the Am Pro 9.5" situation for the record. In addition to Riley, the narrower spacing has now been confirmed from Guitar Parts Factory.timtam wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2019 5:39 pmThe Am Pro bridge also mentioned above (9.5"; # 7709942000) is available from Riley, Angela, Guitar Parts Factory and possibly others. Would these be a drop in for a bass vi? would it be an upgrade over the AVRI bridge?

Re: Johnny Marr Jag bridges in stock
Does anybody know if this 7.25" 52mm Marr bridges (#7712971000) can be installed on a vintage Jag with a mute? I read conflicting reports. But it isn't clear to me if they were referring to the previous Marr bridges (9.5" 56mm).
What it's even more puzzling is that the actual Staytrems are in fact compatible with the mute. Don't know if the older Staytrems were as well. It's al very confusing, considering the Marrguar/Staytrem connection.

Re: Johnny Marr Jag bridges in stock
I just did a little experiment and dropped the bridge from my RWJM into my SVMBVI to see if the bridge posts and string spacing from a JM would fit. It did fit well in the Bass VI, though I didn’t try to bring the strings up to pitch. Rough estimate of string spacing with a ruler is 55mm or 2 3/16in. I would really like to replace the stock SVMBVI bridge, was hoping the AmPro bridge would work. I don’t really want to go narrower, but the E’s are pretty close to the edge of the neck. Regretting sleeping on Staytrem availability.invisible man wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 8:05 pmAlso came here to ask this, Squier Bass VI specifically.N0_Camping4U wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 8:20 amWould these be a drop in for a bass vi? would it be an upgrade over the AVRI bridge?

Honestly the absolute best bet there is getting an actual Staytrem. They’re manufactured for the VI specifically so they’re extra wide, I think 1” which has gotta be close to double what a normal Mustang/Offset bridge is. If you’re outside of the U.K. you can pay like <$10 for a forwarding service out of the U.K. so no worries as far as feeding the egos of reverb and eBay shitbags trying to list them for triple and a half their actual value.

I didn’t know about such forwarding services, I think I’ll do that. Thanks for the tip.Mechanical Birds wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 12:39 pmHonestly the absolute best bet there is getting an actual Staytrem. Hell yeah! A couple boarders have done it and it’s like, £5/£6 extra or whatever. Definitely the way to go, especially considering the fact that you’d pay pretty much the same amount for whatever Fender has available aftermarket, which will be a thing that was never intended for use on a VI, unlike the Staytrem which is PRECISION ENGINEERED specifically for use on the VI.
