I’m not a purist in this regard, and applaud Behringer for their efforts. If the original manufacturers can’t get their shit together, I have no qualms buying a clone with modern updates that expand on what the original was ever capable of doing.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Yep! I love my Roland SH-01A, but they did some weird things with the rest of the Boutique line... The whole line could have been better implemented AND could have been a permanent fixture in their catalogue.

I tell you, if their Juno and Jupiter synths were full sized, I would still own both.

Exactly. Those ones were particularly small. I can handle the teeniness of the SH, but that Jupiter was silly...

Can’t stand Behringer..a lot of their products are garbage and they have been sued many times for pirating in the past and sue and bully others.

I understand the demand though.. the prices of some of the vintage stuff is just ridiculous.

Actually Roland’s System 8 is one of the best sounding things they have released in years..also the TR8S is fantastic..the Novation Peak is another great modern synth and I look forward to the ‘super peak’.

There’s tons of innovation going on in the synth world. .. Behringer are just the most boring synth company out there..clones and rehashes galore.

I for one welcome our new Behringer overlords.

Worst demo ever, but also... TAKE MY MONEY BERHIBGERRB
This. :fp:
Seriously.

Well, at least something's happening on that front. They're still gonna get my money even if I have to track Uli Behringer down myself and stuff a wad of dollars down his throat with a broom.
This is an excellent rectangle

Would anyone here gripe if Behringer were a guitar company that could legally produce copies of old fenders and Gibsons and whatever else that were arguably as good as vintage, but at a fraction of the cost? Nobody would care if they weren't simultaneously pushing the boundaries of creativity in guitar design. I know they aren't some mom and pop outfit or one guy lovingly crafting synths in his shop, but Behringer is making 'reissues' of instruments the companies don't want to make. If Yamaha or Roland listened to customers they would've had years to beat them to the punch.

I just think they're a shitty underhand company..always have..long before they jumped on this particular bandwagon.

And I always admired Ikutaro Kakehashi's mindset of only looking to future. I'm glad they didn't cave... since his death they have a bit more but still are refusing to make pure copies.

I was about to point out that Roland doesn't do reissues for that reason but the Boutique series are in fact reissues (and poorly executed because they are just way too tiny). But well, different strokes for different folks, I guess...

Meh, I just want to be able to have good, well made gear at an affordable price. Everything else aside...

And Roland is a great company for all of those reasons, but they do so much modeling bullshit that it kind of defeats the purpose of "looking to the future".

Of course! Someone somewhere will always gripe. ;D Kinda makes me think of Dana Carvey's grumpy old man character he'd do on weekend update.

Yeah. I love the "we stand for progress" ideal, but COSM and all the rest of it makes me think "man who are you kidding".

Sure I get it...there's huge demand for retro gear/sounds..and this has made a Juno 60 cost ten times what it cost used in 2007. Old people with money..always fucking stuff up..and what for? 15K for a JP8 to sit in their underpants trying to play the Save A Prayer bender part.

Anyway back in this century..this looks interesting to me: UDO Super Six binaural polysynth https://youtu.be/3Yi3HiXWjVI

Good news for me as this will probably put used Peaks in the 700€ pricerange which means I might be able to finally get one.
Yeh the Peak in phenomenal sounding to my ears... I am interested in this for sure...
