Re: The Rickenbacker thread
Is that directed at me wanting a Sierra/Dakota/Colorado? Correcting myself from earlier though, it looks like these are in the 650 series, not 450 . Mostly I just like that they have a thicker neck than most Rickenbackers.Bert Camenbert wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2019 1:54 pmLovely guitar! And it has its neck pickup in the proper place! Who the fuck needs 24 frets on a Ricknebacker?
Now that I Google them more intensively, I discover there are a few other models in the range; damn, I really want an Atlantis, Frisco or an Excalibur now:
Adding to '24 fret Rickenbacker outcasts,' I'd even take a Hamburg:
Anyway bringing it back to things other people might actually possibly like - Rickenbacker sighting in the movie 'Welcome to the Dollhouse,' where the 'cool' but poor character was incongruously able to afford a Rickenbacker for his slacker nineties garage band:
King Buzzo: I love when people come up to me and say “Your guitar sound was better on Stoner Witch, when you used a Les Paul. “...I used a Fender Mustang reissue on that, dumbass!

Re: The Rickenbacker thread
If it is anything like the ‘94 360/12v64 that I have, it should be money well spent! I adore the thing. It is so resonant and balanced. It really feels much more alive than my old ‘91 330/12. Like a really good vintage piece more than a modern reissue of sorts. Though I guess at 25 years old, it IS getting there. It helps that I’ve been able to set it up really well, too. I’ve always liked Pyramid flats, but after using this custom set of Thomastik Infields, I’ll never go back to Pyramids again. Not for 12s at least.jakeisjake wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2019 5:57 pmthere's a nice 360 12c63 up for sale on TGP

Re: The Rickenbacker thread
I was first introduced to thomastik JS111's on my 335 many years ago. I would run them on my AS120 also, and eventually I got rid of my 335, simply because the AS was a far better guitar, tonally and physically.i love sharin foo wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2019 7:28 pmI’ve always liked Pyramid flats, but after using this custom set of Thomastik Infields, I’ll never go back to Pyramids again. When I bought my Jazzmaster I put them on there as well... magic things.
However I've always used curt mangan or pyramids on the Ric. a set of thomastiks for the ric is very expensive here.
I should probably give them a go, knowing how good they are on the ibanez and the jazzmaster.

Thanks its an amber fireglo with yellowed inlays. I don't play it as much as it deserves.cestlamort wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 11:09 pmI agree. The full width inlays and smaller headstocks just look so much better/"right".i love sharin foo wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 2:38 pmNice!
I like the full width inlays so much better. They really complete the look for me.
