New PRS S2 Vela Semi-hollow - Gorgeous
I think I'm in love. This is literally the first PRS offset that has seriously caught my eye. Looks gorgeous and sounds great too!
Well... it's the only PRS offset (but the semi-hollow is new), but I'm usually not all that interested in PRS guitars.

Really like the McCarty Tobacco Sunburst too.

I've been intrigued by this model ever since it came out. They aren't cheap, however, and somewhat hard to cone by in Germany, so I've never tried one.

The Vela is the only PRS I’ve played that felt comfortable to me. Seems like most PRSs have a “wizard” neck or something, thin and wide. The Vela that I played had a normal-feeling neck, and the pickups weren’t too hi-fi.
I wrote a post some years ago about visiting the PRS factory, and what I saw and learned on the tour made me want to like them... but the Vela (which was new at the time) was the only model that felt and looked tolerable.

Yep, same experience with the original Vela. Almost bought one several times but couldn’t justify the price (which is admittedly still pretty modest compared to other PRS guitars). It was the only PRS that felt truly at home to me as a Fender player. I love semi-hollows too, so I’m excited to try one of these out.

Wow, I never thought I'd want a PRS, but the Vela looks and sounds nice.

I find myself bouncing back and forth on how I feel about these, but I agree with the overall sentiment that this is probably the only PRS I would ever really consider purchasing. I just checked reverb and there are a couple of the original solidbody versions for under a grand - if I were in the market for something like this, I feel like that would be a great deal.
Also, I’d love to see one with some kind of vibrato!

The whole S2 range has the same neck, I think. I’m partial to this design...and that of the Mira. They both seem like they’re not trying to be someone else’s idea of a pre-existing middle of guitar. I was at the factory (I live about an hour away) when they were debuting the Vela a few years back. I can personally vouch for that solid body version sounding great in person. I’m sure this would, too.countertext wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2019 9:06 amThe Vela is the only PRS I’ve played that felt comfortable to me.
