No locking nut?

Someone could make it acceptably 'correct' for a player. At the same time as I'm glad they did *not* do it, the most troubling thing probably IS the lack of a locking nut to me. Why butcher the rest of the guitar for the sake of not even getting correct functionality?

The lack of locking nut is a real head scratcher, but I’d sling that thing for the right price. There have been far more offensive ‘mods’ posted here before, and it actually seems they did a half-ok job plugging the trem route.

I actually kinda like it, but I would expect some horrible routing job under the pickguard as well - hard to imagine someone installed floyd and did not opt for the usual humbucker at the bridge.

It's not vintage but some interesting choices were made on this American Professional Jaguar...
That's a cut up Blacktop Jazzmaster pickguard for those who are wondering.

I like the split pickguard idea. Warmoth has it and my old JTK2 had that.
Could have been done better here, though.

Re: "Why did you do it? Why did you do this thing to me?"
The elephant in the room here is that a sizable percentage of "refin, but otherwise all original!" vintage Fenders (that people pay near-premium prices for) once looked like this.
Probably not jags, I'll allow... but TONS of strats (in particular) ended up with Floyds in the 80s. Mysteriously, all of those guitars seem to have vanished, replaced by "tastefully-aged pro refin in desirable custom color" strats...

Don't forget all the old Gibsons "improved" by the Kahler that used the tailpiece studs!

If that were in Lavender, it'd be soooo hot. But it's pretty cute as is.
