Re: NGD: Pink Glitter "Rocker" Super Strat
One of the nicest-playing guitars I've EVER had was a '90-ish Charvel Fusion in traffic-cone orange with maple fretboard, and of course, a Floyd. I'd pay double what I got for it in a heartbeat.
(actual listing of it from a couple years ago, I'm not responsible for the peace sign truss cover)

They really are a pain in the ass to set up, but once you do it's actually really fun to do those completely-slack-to-bending-WAY-up tricks.
That being said, I'd love to do a Charvel Star or Hydra with a single 'bucker at the bridge someday and a ridiculous paint job. With a hardtail.
This looks like a fun project.

I’d throw a Fralin Big Single in there with a metal surround, pop on some sort of gargantuan white knob, and call it a day.

I've often thought about putting one of theose spring loaded Framus volume swell organ effect knobs on a single pickup guitar. Framus have some nice white knobs too.

Thanks Maggie!
I knew you would, Megan! I'm mulling over different choices right now but I think I like the old Harmony knob I just put on it. A speed knob would be interesting for sure... Hmm.mackerelmint wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 3:26 pmYeah. I love it too. Pink and glittery means awesome.
White speed knob, maybe? Definitely needs a white knob on there.
Me too, especially now that I have fixed it up!
Very cool idea. I like the no hole pickup cover. Very Supro-like. I have some no hole metal covers coming in the mail, which will make this current pickup look pretty damn nice as well.

I was busy for most of last night, but I was still able to spend a little time with it. I put the metal pickup surround on it, quickly filed down the bottom of the Tusq nut, installed the Tusq string trees, and this morning I put on an extra set of Gotoh vintage tuners that I had laying around.
I have to say... This thing RIPS. Like, wow. It sounds amazing and has literal "sustain for days". Sounds like a fat Tele right now and I love it. I have about $200 CDN into it after all of the mods, but it plays and sounds just as good as any of my other guitars. If I were better at slide, this thing would kill, especially with its 10" radius, huge sustain, and the hot bridge pickup.
Amazing.

I was just thinking that a white chickenhead knob would be great.
Or, maybe a white radio knob, like the Frantone Creampuff:

All you need is that guitar, three chords, and the truth.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

That's more like it!
I use volume knobs a lot and chicken heads just don't do it for me, beyond aesthetics. My old Supro Lap Steel has nice knobs that I wouldn't mind finding another set of...

You can get current production Daka-Ware just like that, save for the indicator dot.

White or cream fender barrel knob, ala brown and blonde amps could be cool.

See, that's a guitar that screams "I'm secure in my masculinity and my abilities as a player. One pickup and one knob is all I need, and sparkly pink is fun."
It's cool that it plays and sounds so good, too. I'm really happy for you finding that thing.

I'm pretty dang sure of/comfortable with my own sexuality, that's for sure. My abilities? A little bit. Of course, that's not why I like this guitar, I just like it because it's actually a good guitar after a little bit of work being put into it.

Not wrong. My Stratotone-Stratocaster-Coodercaster thing just has a Dearmond Hershey Bar pickup in the neck and wired straight to the jack and it's easily the best sounding guitar I own.
