I have been waiting for these. I will definitely snag a walnut Starcaster. Any idea when they are supposed to be available?

These are rad, still annoyed that none of them are string through like the originals. The contemporary active ones are really weird and interesting, I really dig the blue one.

They're awesome!
Usual gripe about the ToM bridge / only 4 knobs is offset (pun intended) by the Squier price point.
The 'contemporary' ones look cool. I'd gravitate towards the more traditional ones, but it's a nice option to have.
I expect the WRHBs won't be real WRHBs, but for $400, again I can't complain. That's what the Creamery is for, after all.
This or a Powercaster... What to buy?

Re: New Squier Starcasters - Classic Vibe, Contemporary, and Affinity
I'm a little bit sad that the Affinity and Contemporary got all the cool finishes. I get that the Classic Vibes are aiming more for the 70's look, but there are some great colours in the others that would've looked amazing with the f-holes and headstock swoosh.

Slightly (completely) hijacking the subject, but what's your PhD in? I'm just finishing off writing up my thesis (oceanography, but I'm originally a physicist) as we speak, and I'm in the market for the same reasons!TheOndrakGuy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2019 11:47 pmLooks like I've found my 'finished your PhD' present to myself!
Problem is, I can't decide which!

Well, PhD is a big thing and you worked hard to achieve it... you could treat yourself with more than one guitar!TheOndrakGuy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2019 11:47 pmLooks like I've found my 'finished your PhD' present to myself!

Especially at this price...

I've decided I'd like a blue contemporary one and some new pups. At the right price, of course.

I ordered the walnut version, the neck tint seems to be too strong for the blonde body. I also wish IBM was on a CV instead, but oh well.
Now who can tell me which WRHBs to get? I need happy, bright tones...
