Title says it.
I hope for Bass VI pickups on a Strat in some manner.

I posted a similar question on another board. ( I am stuck in my own Teisco Purgatory. )

Is that guy playing a Bass VI/Strat hybrid? Or is it the earlier Bass VI without the strangle switch? Pre... 63, I think?
Are you asking about making a Strat with those pickups?

As someone elsewhere pointed out those pickups pictured were only used in '61 and '62.
Given Mr. Cooder's proclivities towards mutants and mash-ups I am curious if he is playing a Strat with early Bass VI pickups. A rather outside combination for 1979.
A Strat would be interesting as would a Teisco style build I am pondering.

There are references online and at least one other blurry photo (from Vintage Guitar magazine?) of Cooder playing a VI - with a capo and a slide!

What makes you think this is a strat? Looks exactly like a 61 bass vi to me. I think I played one just like it a few months ago!
