Thanks dude! My metric set has one (or two?) more wrench than my SAE does. Basically, it'll slope the other way (longer wrenches on the left, smaller on the right) and it'll be a few inches longer too.
That's a simple solution. Great idea.
Thanks! I'm planning on having them right next to each other too, so it's not like they'll be far apart if I grab the wrong one. One wall in the garage is quickly becoming my general tool wall, with the other becoming a specialty tool, woodworking tool, and power tool accessory wall.

The Toronado was the first offset guitar that got my interest. I'd also like to see a finished photo of this one.

snagged an E series MIJ jag the other day for a great price.
it had been stripped, most of the electronics removed, original pickups and pickguard long gone, tuners wrecked, wonky nut.
pretty much fixed everything and refinished it.
had most of the parts i needed lying around. the only thing im still missing is a set of pickup covers, which are on the way.
its had a partial refret (very strange), just the first 6 frets have been replaced with jumbo? im hoping that doesnt affect the playability.
leaving the headstock original, the body is a grey/blue with some purple flecks. looking pretty cool i think. grainy pics i know, had to switch back to my old phone. :(

I like the color you chose for it. It looks good with the tort.

I'm very into this painted-but-not-matching headstock 😄

That is amazing Nik!! I don't know if I'd do tort if it was mine, but I also can't think of what else would go as well with the headstock. LOVE the mismatched head and body colors!!!

Busy weekend for a ton of reasons, but I actually got most of a day to get some things from my to-do list done. Firstly is a small little shelf for the bedroom that I made for knick-knacks and whatever the hell else:

Image
I was inspired by something I'd built for my bed frame and ended up not using: basically a small box that my headboard would rest on. When I went to get rid of it, it ended up between two of the doorways in my bedroom, and I kinda liked it. I used mostly wood that I've had laying around for a while, which was nice. Just under 6" between each shelf, and the whole thing is about 12" wide and 5.5' tall.

The big thing was that I finally got the metric wrench rack done, and added the pieces to hold my 3 metric and 3 SAE flare-nut wrenches to each board.

Image
I took a 5/4 x 6 and drilled holes for the wrench ends with Forstner bits. Then, I took the whole thing to the table saw to cut slots. I mounted the whole thing to their respective racks, and then cut out the whole middle, so it would be easy to grab the wrenches.

Image
Here's the complete metric wrench rack.

Image
Here's both of them completed.

Only thing I have left to do is replace the stainless steel spacer that my 19mm wrench sits on, as the angled wrench doesn't sit flush against the rack (spacer is too thick).

Image
I built this a while ago, but I finally got to use the wheel/caster accessory when drilling the holes for my little bedroom shelf above.

I love the way you mounted those tubing wrenches. I'll remember that.

The whole rack would sound like a giant wind chime in an earthquake, which we've been having our share of lately. :D

That narrow shelf sure uses what would otherwise be dead space. Two stars for that one.
