Hmmm I just tried myUKmailbox, but it seems like Staytrem is getting wise and won’t ship to their address. I sympathize with him, kind of overworked myself. Need that bridge though.Mechanical Birds wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2019 5:44 pmHell yeah! A couple boarders have done it and it’s like, £5/£6 extra or whatever. Definitely the way to go, especially considering the fact that you’d pay pretty much the same amount for whatever Fender has available aftermarket, which will be a thing that was never intended for use on a VI, unlike the Staytrem which is PRECISION ENGINEERED specifically for use on the VI.
Let the shitbags posting these things for 3/4x the original cost on reverb rot in hell

I tried a forwarding service for Staytrem as well. Was refunded pretty much immediately and told they only do uk residential and business addresses. No forwarding services. Game over, man!

Bummer. I wonder how long I’ll have to wait until people start parting out the new Squier Classic Vibe Bass VI. I wonder if Stratosphere would take a request?

The original cutoff of everyone else was ridiculous enough but that takes the cake as the stupidest shit I may have ever seen on this forum

Yes.

I think you are referring to Staytrem, but I can see how you could be referring to me, and how you could be right.Mechanical Birds wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2019 3:04 amThe original cutoff of everyone else was ridiculous enough but that takes the cake as the stupidest shit I may have ever seen on this forum

Re: Johnny Marr Jag bridges in stock
I can sympathize with the guy wanting to slow down his operation and move toward retirement. I’d like to take it easy one day. It’s my fault for lagging behind on ordering when they were available, though I was and continue to juggle an inordinate amount of complications in my life in seemingly every category. I’ve got a set of LaBella flatwounds, an Axemaster compensated nut, and a set of brass shims waiting to be installed on my Bass VI, so hopefully those will help improve the playability. I was playing this morning through my 1980 Pro Reverb, master volume up, reverb channel preamp volume rolled down, strangle switch on, volume and tone rolled way down on the Bass VI, such a nice clean tone at quiet volume (apart for that flubby low E, action maybe a bit high, string spacing a little wide). I hope the Staytrem designs get passed on to someone who wants to produce them for our corner of the guitar world, they are awesome. Will get by until then. Tangent over, back to the MarrJuar bridges!

Agreed 100%. If the StayTrem guy wants to slow down, he should offer batches, first come first served. Once they're gone, they're gone. If you get lucky, you can get a spot on the queue, once a new batch is announced. I understand if he doesn't want to deal with Intl shipping, but cutting of forwarding services is moronic at best.Mechanical Birds wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 9:16 amYeah definitely staytrem hahainvisible man wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 4:29 amI think you are referring to Staytrem, but I can see how you could be referring to me, and how you could be right.Mechanical Birds wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2019 3:04 amThe original cutoff of everyone else was ridiculous enough but that takes the cake as the stupidest shit I may have ever seen on this forum

I’m sick of hearing people whine about the Staytrem situation. I was bummed when things changed, but life goes on.
Staytrem made a fantastic contribution to the offset world. He owes us nothing. He can run his business however he likes.
Read the post above by invisible man - someone who clearly has bigger issues than the bridge on his guitar, and handles it like a man. All the best to you, invisible man, and shame on those who continue to complain about the staytrem situation.
Please desist, and let this thread revert to it’s original topic.

Agreed. If the guy doesn't want to export, it's his prerogative. I wonder if exporting out of the UK comes with added paperwork and bookkeeping that takes up more time than its worth for a little item. I can sympathize with that.

A friend just forwarded me this video of RL Burnside shot in 1978 playing a cheap guitar and amp combo, maybe 70s Japanese models, set in the Mississippi countryside. A great performance I could never match through this rig which I am sure was far from ideal and rife with playability issues. A lesson for all of us in there somewhere to be sure. https://youtu.be/K_DOnKJ232M

Re: Johnny Marr Jag bridges in stock
I bought one recently from Daren Riley. I noticed the difference with the high E string further from the edge. I couldn't get it to pop out of the nut anymore like I used to. But I also noticed it didn't line up the same with some of the neck pickup pole pieces-- the high E, low E and A strings. So I was a little worried how it would sound. But I think the guitar now sounds better! Maybe it's just my imagination, but it seems to have a thicker tone.
Thanks to OSG for making me aware of Daren's shop.
