8 String Jazzmaster/Jaguar Pickups
So apparently the Fender 400 pedal steel uses these; tempted to track some down and slap them in some Ibanez to play some Nu-Metal Surf music:

I suggest you play some nu-metal surf on the pedal steel guitars.

It’s shallow, but curiosity actually compels me to buy and learn to play these, where I had no desire before. I do wonder how amicable the spacing would be make an eight string Jazzmaster/Jaguar.

Bill Nace (Of Body/Head fame) has been playing around with a pedal steel player, Susan Alcorn, for the past year or so. I've seen this, and it was pretty mind-blowing. There is more to be done with pedal steel than nu-metal.

Re: 8 String Jazzmaster/Jaguar Pickups
Somebody built some 7-pole jazzmaster pickups.
Might have been Novak, but described as an early prototype it was intended to be used like their bass pickups with the strings between the poles...might have a more compressed sound?

Re: 8 String Jazzmaster/Jaguar Pickups
Same screw spacing but the cover is wider because of the added polepieces.
