I finished wiring it this morning. Then I put the pickguard on and added the knobs and a strap button to see how it looks.
What remains is to put the upper strap button on and the neck (and a headstock logo). Then cut the nut slots, string it up and adjusting everything. I'm looking forward to this. Another day, though.

It looks really fantastic overall, but I'm most excited to see the plastic come off the pickguard
I can't keep that stuff on there for very long. Nor on any electronics either. I love peeling that stuff off.
Gotcha covered.

I've been following this thread and build and holy cow, this one is right up there with the best of OSG!

That looks amazing!!
Can I ask about the foam inside the trem springs in the earlier photo? Is that to stop them creaking? I've not seen that before - does it work? I might try that on my Mustang....

It's to stop them from causing undesirable sympathetic vibrations (sounds like a good name for a rock band
). The Trem King bridge comes with that in them already.

Thanks. Those connectors are the best I've found. They make solid contact and make it easy to someday take something out without desoldering anything. One of the people on the Warmoth forum suggested them.
Here they are.

The front with the wiggle stick in it. Also a back photo.

I love banana connectors! I never thought about using them in a guitar, but that's quite clever. I usually just use spade terminals for stuff like that, but I might have to look into getting some of those.

Finished guitar looks amazing all around! Won't the springs all to one side put extra stress on the trem, damage it, or screw with your tuning?

There are 2mm ones and 4mm ones. I've been using the 2mm size and they work out great. They take up less space and don't wear out from use like spade connectors. Not that you take them apart often but if you do, they'll keep working.

Thanks. Rusty at Trem King says that's how it's done. The tone block pivots on a shaft at the top rather than having the whole bridge pivot on a thin edge against a couple screws. The center spring is for a tension bar. That pulls the tone block, along with the tone block spring(s), back to neutral from a dive. At neutral, the tension bar hits a stop on either side and then the only pull is with the tone block spring(s). 11's or smaller strings need only one tone block spring (either side is fine) and 12's or above get two. It's a cool system because the bridge plate is screwed solid to the body. Tone transfer is solid like with a hard tail bridge.

That's kinda awesome. I'll have to look those bridges up.

Did I say I kind of like it, right?
Awesome touch on the neck plate too!
If it sounds and plays even 1% as good as it looks, no shoulder annoyance will be able to keep that beauty parked in the guitar rack!
If and when you have the chance and if you don't mind me asking, can you post a sound clip?
Once again, stellar work, truly inspiring.

Excellent work! It looks really good and the grain is dreamy. I'm a big fan of your ground connections as well.
