Thin Strat body in ash (or brighter wood)

Post by Blomberg » Tue Dec 17, 2019 2:21 am

Where does one find one?

I've discovered I'm quite partial to the thinner, lighter affinity-like bodies, probably a maladjustment from messing with Mustangs and Musicmasters the past year ;D

I recently bought a cheap 43mm basswood body, but I'd really like something a bit (or a lot) brighter/snappier, since I'm used to the ash/maple tone.
I've looked at Affinity bodies, but they all seem to be alder.
Also checked some chinese off-brand stuff on ebay, and did find some ash variants, but neck pockets are questionable (large) or matte finishes (wtf?) or they have other issues. Or thickness isn't listed.

Does anyone know if anyone sell a decent thin body made of ash or maple or similar bright wood, or know of a brand that uses them that might be available parted out?
Oh, and preferably finished, I can't be bothered/don't have painting skills.

Pretty niche request, I know ;D

Anyway, I ended up buying a regular sized ash body by Mighty Mite off ebay. No idea about the weight, so fingers crossed it's not too bad.
