Road Worn 50's Stratocaster
I found this used but new at Guitar Center. The previous owner bought it there and returned it after a couple months because he wasn't playing it to get credit towards something else. Came with gig bag and all the tags. I plan to put a one ply black guard on it. I normally don't dig single coil pickups but this one sounds beautiful. I normally do like neck and middle with single coils, but bridge pickups always feel thin and wussy to me. Not with this one. It is really awesome. Here are pictures. I love the wear on the neck and body. Doesn't look cheesy to me at all.

Yep, that’s fantastic.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Part of me hoped this was in 'for sale'

A used, official 'Road Worn' guitar is kind of ideal. You don't know what wear is real and what is reliced. Less cognitive dissonance than buying a 'new' RW.

LOL true. I like that if I bump it into something I don't freak out if it gets a ding or scratch. I almost completely get relic'ed stuff because of that. Otherwise I baby stuff too much.

Black pickguard is so great. Only change I am doing other then putting strap locks on it.

Looks great!! Very Gilmour after the pickguard swap.
I have one of these bodies on my favorite parts Strat. Picked it up from Stratosphere about 10 years ago.
I have RW 60’s aged plastics and a 90’s CIJ ‘68 RI neck on mine.
Love the look, feel and tone of those RW guitars.

Very nice! I love Japanese necks. They are normally a slim D and I really love them. The stock neck feels like a soft V at the nut and then a C higher up the neck. I love Gilmore so the swap defiantly was inspired by his strat.
