Is it by chance, or did something get updated?
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

It’s still acting weird, it just comes and goes.

It's flying for me right now.

I enabled some additional logging a little while ago to try to narrow down a cause, but that should make things a little slower not faster. :wtf:

My last several page loads have been instant. Earlier today, I was still having to copy my message before posting for fear of timeouts. Will keep my fingers crossed.

Edit: this posted instantly, but then it took 20 seconds to leave this thread, and another 15 to come back and edit this.

I'm currently on my bestie's WiFi, but she also has FiOS like I do, so routing should be similar. Seems to be loading alright.

OK, it's been flip-flopping for me between instant response and 30-second loads with the occasional timeout. This is both on my FiOS connection or Google Fi (T-Mobile).

Same, and it's so inconsistent.

A question for luau: Is this a private machine that the server is running on? A shared machine? A VM? Is the database and the forum instance running on the same box?

I ask because I'm starting to wonder if the hangup is network or server resource based.

Load times had been variable for me since the problem started. But it's gotten to be a consistent 30 sec load for any page over the last 2 days.

Same. As an experiment I tried deleting cookies etc but it made no difference. Good luck with the fix - and because it got lost on page 1, is there a way we can donate to help with the running costs?

I made a change that might affect people receiving email notifications. Please let me know if you aren't getting emails you're expecting.

It's a single VM with MySQL and Apache.

ATM, I think we just need more RAM but am still convincing myself of it.

There isn't. Keeping the site free to users, ad free, and free of the complications that come with taking money from users, has always been part of the ethos of the site. Whether or not that should change is another topic entirely.
