Anyone here rocking old Hagstroms?
So for now I think my old Hagstrom HIII project is done.
Removed the weird fuzz circuit that someone had built into it.
Instead of refreting the original oh so worn down neck, it was cheaper to get another one (old Hag I), on which i put my fav old Schaller tuners. Since there are no side dots i put glowing tape strips on for now...
Loving how it feels and sounds, and actually considering using it at our next gig opening for La Jungle.
Will try it out loud at rehearsal to see if it isn't an extreme feedbacker.
Sounds glorious with fuzz. Well yes, think Mudhoney.
...anyone else here using one of these live?
Pity the vibrato isn't a bit softer to the touch like a Jag but oh well.

I’ve used a ‘74 Swede for years. I don’t really play it live anymore, but it lives at the studio and is used all the time. Very different beast I suppose, but great sounding and reliable. Also still quite affordable last time I checked. Would love to try an HIII like yours sometime.

I played an HIII many years ago and really liked it. I haven’t seen one since, only modern reissues with the wrong headstock and super flat necks.

These look so cool. Are they made in Sweden? What do all the switches do?

A H2 is on my list of must owns at some point.
My herd is way overpopulated, so it will wait for meow.

There's a master on/off on top, the other ones are individual on/off for each pickup and three others for different filters like treble or bass cut, quite useless to be honest

Sad to say this one is gone, I did take it out once just to watch everyone look at it, world’s fastest neck.

Another different beast/beauty. My 79 Hagström Jimmy. Made in Sweden but designed by Jimmy D'Aquisto.

Oh yeah. Playing an 60s H12 and a 70s HIIN live, love them!

Nice pair! That H12 is also a pretty rare Hag

I’ve always loved these. They sure aren’t cheap these days.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Re: Anyone here rocking old Hagstroms?
This one popped up on Marketplace, pretty close to where my wifes parents live. It was cheap so I had them go there and buy it immediately. Turned out it needed a neck reset and some general TLC, but even with that cost it was cheap. Can’t make up my mind to keep or sell tho

Re: Anyone here rocking old Hagstroms?
I had an H12 for a spell in the 90s. It was a great guitar - I traded it for a Harmony Rocket with terribly microphonic pickups. Bad move.
