Was pointed to this thread from Highnumbers' Bass VI resurrection thread and I'm just wowed by all of you guys!
So, is this Jazzmaster still living its best life with you, will?

I have also come over here from Highnumber's bass vi resurrection thread. This jazzmaster surgery is equally impressive. I don't think I will look at another butchered old offset the same. This project and the previously mentioned bass vi illustrate that these things can be pretty far gone and still find a second life as their first incarnations.
Incredible work here Will. The documentation was awesome and as someone else in the thread mentioned, I just binged this whole 14 pages of posts. Thanks for sharing.

I'm working on a Jaguar that had the body routed out for hum buckers at some point, then someone must have thought better and put it all back to stock. What would one use to refill the missing wood? Some sort of wood epoxy or what?? thanks.

Wood and glue. Then re-route in the original pattern.fendermcfenderface1! wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 3:01 pmI'm working on a Jaguar that had the body routed out for hum buckers at some point, then someone must have thought better and put it all back to stock. Or if hidden by the pickguard anyway, leave it and enjoy the modest weight saving.

Yeah, if you can't see it, let it roll!andy_tchp wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 3:34 pmWood and glue. As the earliest photos in this thread can attest, using any sort of "filler" like a wood epoxy is an absolute bodge that doesn't hold up.fendermcfenderface1! wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 3:01 pmI'm working on a Jaguar that had the body routed out for hum buckers at some point, then someone must have thought better and put it all back to stock. You need to replace wood with wood (alder), then re-route as per the factory cavities. It's worth repairing guitars like these properly.

This is one of the greatest guitar restorations I have ever seen. I would love to own this one!
