Yup, it was a double stamp.
The jag is a wild one. You know the factory double finishes that happened from time to time? That was factory CAR over CAR!

Wow... and I just read on eBay that I would probably never see another CAR Jazzmaster.
Hmmmm... this must be that same one!

Re: 65 OlyWhite Jazzmaster & Swinger Guitar Porn
If anyone is interested I grabbed the huge original photos from two recent ebay auctions by a seller well-known for good photos (not tune-o-maniac). I put them in an online album - if you click the thumbnail you get a larger version, and you can click that one for the full-size (cca 2MB) version.
One is for a '65 OlyWhite Jazzmaster: http://www.hadton.com/offsets/65_OlyWhite_JM/
And the other is for a '66 Swinger: http://www.hadton.com/offsets/fender_swinger/

Note the Swinger...it is in the very rare Purpleburst that they used on some Competition Mustangs...this could be a one-off!
Competition Stripes make them play FASTER.

Re: 1965 CAR Jaguar and Jazzmaster detail pics
mjet, do you know how much the Swinger went for?
And thank you for posting those. I'm finally going to get my hands on an original Swinger, and it looks like those pictures are high enough quality so that I can copy the Swinger decal.
They put the Swinger decal ON TOP of the clear coat -genius- thereby insuring that only the most well taken care of instruments would retain that decal over the last 40 years. In fact, of the 20-30 swingers I've found pictures of (or refrences to) on the internet, only Ben Kweller's Swinger has had the Swinger logo intact.
I had entertained notions of trying to contact Ben Kweller to get a nice picture of the logo so that it could be copied, but he's a busy performer/recording artist.
