Which reinforces the logic behind selling signature models - generation-targeted marketing.
Yeah, all the kids from my generation are grown up and making money to burn now, so why not sell them a guitar or 2 or 3 with the name of their teenage hero on it and let them rock out like they couldn't afford to at 14.

Next on the list: a Fender Select series Jagstang with 14kt solid gold hardware and a real pearl pickguard. This particular model will come with a one-size-fits-all plaid shirt, a "home-made" Flipper t-shirt, pre-ripped jeans, Converse One Stars, and an optional red and purple streaked shaggy wig for the stress-induced balding a high calibre job is bound to induce.

How about putting that huge humbucker in it? So much for accuracy...
This style Mustang is accurate from the "In Utero" era. He toured mostly with the Fiesta Red and the Sonic Blue that they nicknamed "Sky Stang." I think there were three of them. The Competition Stang is, however, inaccurate as we see from the photos above.

I'm still impressed that Kurt Cobain gets three Fender guitars to his name. I guess the Jag and the Mustang make up for the hideous Jag-stang. I prefer the OSG members rework of the idea.
I know the regular Mustangs are accurate, I was replying to a post about the inaccuracy of the Compstang not having a matching headstock.

I just ordered a compstang lefty. Not because it's an inaccurate Cobain mustang but because it's a lefty compstang!!!

Honestly I don't like signature guitars. I would much rather install a humbucker on a mustang than have someones name all over my guitar. To each his own though, I always wondered why they never released a humbucker mustang.

I'm not a KC fan, but if I ever stumble into a spare $940, this seems like something I'd be all over. I really need some Mustang in my life.

Looks a bit like the guitar Homer Simpson played in SadGasm:

(Apologies, couldn't resist - I only saw this episode for the first time yesterday after not having seen a full ep of the Simpsons for ages)

Funny thing how this artist or sig thing doesn't really bother me. At all.
So far of few guitars I had in my life none were sig model, but in all honesty I wouldn't mind one. Same as any other guitar to me.
About this particular model, I like that humbucker as I feel it gives you options.
I dislike Pawn Shop model although I thought I wouldn't but I don't dig different body and logo on headstock.
This is ideal Fender Mustang for me, so if I ever go for one this probably would be it.

i got my buddy at the music store to bring one in for me, in LPB. if i like it i think i'll be buying it. time to get rid of that Firebird copy anyway...
it's too bad it doesn't have a matching headstock but that's ok. i can live with it. or i can always get the sonic blue one, get a pearloid pickguard and go for that daphne blue combo.

that said, i was wondering, the bridges that they have on these... is it possible to drop in a mustang bridge? the radius is 7.25 so we should be ok there. i'm just wondering if the thimbles line up and such. anyone know? or will we just have to wait and see? :)

I keep looking at that Firebird on Kijiji. :D

The bridge on the KC Mustang is slanted. I don't think it has the normal thimbles so a bridge swap isn't straightforward.

Did the store have a timeline on these? I have one on order online but no timeframe.

hahaha no way. that's funny :D well, it's still up for sale. so you know where to find me if you want it. it's a cool guitar, i just never bonded with it.

i guess we'll see when the KC Mustang comes in. perhaps the TOM bridge will be less finnicky and i won't care if i like the guitar enough :)

ahh i did not get a timeline. but i'm not really waiting around for it.
that said, when it comes in and i give it a go, i'll make sure to say something about it here.
