Original or not.... IMHO that is not an attractive colour scheme. I understand the attraction from a nostalgic perspective but from an aestethic one... no.terminalvertigo wrote:Clashing like this?

New, fake, green pickguards are even worse.
My suggestions would be (in no order of preference): parchment, white, white pearl, vintage/yellowed pearl.
Feel free to hate me for not loving green guards !

I refinished my 1959-60 jazz master in sonic blue and i have tried several guards on it.
i finally decided on a vintage tort.
Probably what settled it for me was a "famous" vintage Daphne or Sonic jazzmaster that appeared on the forum a few years ago.....
And trials that i made.....
1- MIJ gold
2- Fender mint (not too green!)
3- Fender tort (too dark! But nice!)
And how she ended up, with her offset sisters.

That dark tort is incredible!
If Barry White was tort he'd look like that

That red tort is really nice!
Just to follow up on my earlier post, I've since ditched the mint green for a parchment guard and I like it much more. The mint against the blue was too green! and looked kinda fake IMO.

The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.
