Roland Cube 60 Bass (the old one)

Yesterday, I entered a music shop I rarely go to, and had an eye on the second-hand section... There was this Roland Cube 60 Bass; I noted down the serial number, but couldn't find a way to properly date it. It's been made in Japan, supposedly in the 80s. Same as this one:

Some rust and a faded tolex, otherwise it looks good. I couldn't try it out, as my bass is being modded and won't be ready before 2 weeks from now, and the ones in the shop look like über crap. So, there's no way to be sure about how good the sound could be. :|

So, I've tried to Google it yesterday, but couldn't find much infos. A very few (short) reviews, none of them being bad, but nothing fantastic either; now, I think a sound's something personnal, I don't know what credit to give to said reviews, as my tastes could be different. It's compact, kind of cheap (€115), so it'd fit perfect with what I'm looking for: a simple appartment amp, that'd do in case a guitar player would come home to jam along.

Does anyone know more about it? It's not some kind of obscure brand or series, and I worry a bit not finding much about it. Thanks.

They are actually very good. My colleage at work has a 100w version of it. He's a retired pro musician and use(d) a lot of really expensive gear. He says nothing beats the old Roland Cube sereis sound/price wise....(he's one of these guys that played Trace Eliots and other expensive stuff in the 90ties)
He recently aquiered another Roland for home use. He paid arround €100 from a private seller. Had some work though.

When I was in my teens, the guy next door had the 15Watt variant of the Roland Bass cube, man that thing went loud....I remember rehearsals with a drummer and me on a PA playing guitar and he unmiced with the cube.....still hearable....amzing. It also was one of the first small bass combo's I saw that had a port hole tube in it for a broader low spectrum.
The guitar versions of the Roland cubes are pretty good too.

Since I posted this, I got to try it... And ultimately adopted it.

Unfortunately, the electronic on my bass is not finished yet, so I can't really try it with my own gear... But my guitar sounded fantastic in it.
