This is exactly how I do it on my black panel Bassman 👍

On mine, both volume controls work.

Sometimes instead of just the patch cable I add in a Fender spring reverb unit and feed that in to the bass channel. I can then add reverb using the bass channel volume control. This also helps negate the loss of high end that the reverb unit causes.

That is pretty cool! I heard some people will put a delay in the same way to jumper. It makes for some interesting things to try. :D

Is it like this?

Basically the arrows are the guitar signal. Since the inputs are connected internally it allows the signal to go through channel 2 while also going out from the second input over to the input of channel one at the same time. Sort of like a Y splitter that lets your signal go through both channels at once and then out through the amps output?

I just jammed the cable in any old way. Maybe I was lucky it even worked 😂
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

The head arrived! I am really happy with it. I like it jumpered. It makes the tone a bit thicker? Sort of like the difference between a humbucker and then if you coil split it? Single is like coil tapped and jumpered is like a humbucker. :) It looks like the text in person says 101 or lol Straightjacket. Only thing I needed to do was wipe it down because it was pretty dirty. :)

Couldn't help googling and found this:
'101 Straitjacket'-Original Progressive/Metal band fronted by Mytch Meadows, who also fronted and led the band 'Sky Church'!

That's a beauty, looks well-loved, and I bet it sounds like a monster. My (incredibly understanding) wife is already aware that if I ever start talking about dropping "real money" on another amp, it'd be a 50W SF Bassman. Play it in good health, and find somewhere you can get it crunching.

And it's always interesting to buy an amp at retail with a little story that can be unearthed with a little journalism. But be warned, sometimes those are NOT good stories.

But it sounds like your new story's gonna be good 'n' loud! Enjoy!

I've owned too many Bassman heads but the SF Bassman 50 ones have always been good ones! They do love Greenbacks :?

SF clean + BF driven = that's essentially a real-life Klon.

Make sure you give it a "straight in" session. Just the cable. I bet it's wonderful.
