Thanks ohm-men, I never considered building a cab myself, I'd mess it up badly.
The Tremolux is fantastic, much warmer than the '79 Twin and not as damn clean, that thing was so clear it hurt my ears. It's got a closed back cab with two Celestion Vintage 30's (12"), I guess that combination also adds to the warmth of the tone.

The only thing I miss a bit is reverb, the Twin's reverb sounded really nice and I doubt an EH Holy Grail could be as good.

Anyway, that's not a big issue, in the end I'm an insanely proud new owner of a 1965 Tremolux. I think this one will stay with me for the rest of my life and I'm looking forward to gigging with this monster.

Well, I played my Tremolux with a EH Holy grail for quiet a while. It was pretty close to the on board reverb of a twin imo. (Played a SF Twin one one or two occasions, so I can't really tell) but a previously used a SF Bandmaster reverb and the EH Holy Grail with the tremolux actually sounded nice then the Bandmasters reverb. Just make sure to keep^the treble on the amp below 7 or so and ad a tad more bass. Both normal and tremolo channels sounds nice with the EH Grail. I like the tremolo channel most with the no. 1 input and bright switch on, but depending on the speakers you use you van leave the bright switch off. I used the tremolux with 4x12 Celestion GT 75 for a long while before sizing down to a 2x12" Jensen cab.
Always liked the Celestions. GT75, Vintage 30 and the greenbacks.

Despite owning a "66  BF "blond-ed" Single Showman, I prefer the Tremolux. These things got some magik imo.
Just started to use my old Eko700 turned down to B on it and its instant 50ties baritone sound.... :?
I only used the Showman when I really needed tons of clean and a lot of volume (read non PA-ed gigs in open air)
Now the Showman collects dust, which is a shame actually.

Thanks for your help ohm-men, I never actually tried a Holy Grail, I just (wrongly) assumed it's hard to find a pedal that sounds as good as the on-board Fender reverb units.

That's hot!!  I love the new cab, too.  Now you just need to yellow that pretty new grillecloth.  ;D

And, ofcourse the finished product

In all a lot of work, but really worth it! Tolexing is not that difficult once you get how it was origianlly done.
I'm pretty happy with the end result on this one and the tolex I used is very, very close to what Fender used in '65.

Oh yes, and here it is mated with my DIY build Tremolux cab  8)

Hope you like it.
