Sounds to me like Fender has gotten wind of the ebay and forum-led buzz about old Champs, and decided to cash in by sticking the name on a new amp. The "dial-any-sound" feature spooks me too - rather than do one thing well, they're trying to make it appeal to everyone.
From the Zzounds website: The inclusion of solid-state overdrive and distortion eliminates many of the preamp tube problems that plague tube lovers, while providing tones for rock, blues, country, jazz, metal, and more.

Jazz AND Metal? Utilitarian, to say the least...at least those horrible preamp problems will be a thing of the past. WTF? ???

the graphics on that harley benton look just like the epi's.  i bet they are made in the same place, if not the same amp.

Probably is the same amp. We have "Legacy" amps here which are exactly the same as Epiphones.
Times change.  Remember when dog Jimmy used to go white and chalky?  Now it grows hair!  We got used to it. We'll get used to poly. -blueavenger
