i wouldn't be too sure about that, a friend of mine made a few really nice recordings using only the built in mic on his iMac... give it a try!

good point, I guess the ManSized stuff I did sounded ok, and they were done like that...

once I get some spare time I'll do it

sounds great...articulate, edgy, string-to-string separation is great, it distorts nicely...it's got nice bottom end too (the beefier transformer + the big box help)

The Celestion Gold is a killer speaker too...they pair well together

I'll definitely get another amp from them in the future

hehe...the HH is the one I go out in public with, the tweed is the behind-closed-doors-mistress....

hmmmm...I think it's time I buy the HH some roses and take it out for a nice meal!



on a serious note, I think they'd both compliment each other well in a stereo setup...you get the nice distortion from the tweed, alongside gorgeous sparkly cleans with tightness from the HH

Yannis, remember that song "mediumsize" I did a couple months back? That was all recorded on my Macbook's mic. I think those mics give everything quite a nice, immediate, slightly telephonic sound. Definitely worthwhile for a more lo-fi approach...

yeah, my own solo stuff was done with the external mic...I was kinda concerned with representing the amp accurately....maybe I'm over-analysing it...

I had a look at that ceriatone website and it loks pretty good....  (mmmmm thinking might like to build something)

But I do have a question  ... how does one know what the impedence of the amps are ?

I already have a 16ohm/8ohm cab that I would like to use , but I can't see anywhere that tells me what each amp it rated at ?

Am I missing something ?
