the treble would be MENACING but worth every second of it, could you run both trem circuits at once? I need so much more info.
Should I sell my Bassman, and what are they even worth??

They're not actually that bright an amp...just the stock speakers are bass-deficient so they often sound bright because of that. My '65 has a Weber in it and, if anything, could do with a little more treble on tap! It gets brighter the louder you turn it up but never piercing.
Run it into a stereo cab, with two different tremolo speeds - or two spaced cabs - and it'd blow your mind I reckon
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

Why am I seeing so many "racks" with BF/SF amp chassis in them lately? What in the holy ****?

I don't know if you sold it or not but I was in the same boat recently. Mine is a '67 and has always been a basketcase. It was converted to AA864 specs but something in the bass channel was off. The circuit looked correct but there's a gremlin somewhere... the eyelet board was a mess in that section so who knows. So today I said fuggit and completely rebuilt it.
I omitted the 2nd gain stage and pulled out V2. I basically turned the amp into a bandmaster minus the more beefy Bassman OT. I transformed the bass channel into Rob Robinette's Lead Channel. I really like it. It's tight and I've got more headroom. It responds to pedals better now IMO.
My bright switch was changed to a midrange selector switch (goes from 2.7k to 6.8k but I may change it from 6.8k to 10k) and my negative feedback resistor is now 1.5k. It's kinda more Marshall-y now but def still fender. The normal channel is stock but I did add a .047 coupling cap before it hits the phase inverter to make it more Bandmaster-y.
I AM SO HAPPY with this amp now.
I'll probably experiment with adding the 2nd tube stage back in but I'm very happy for now.

Johnny's not around to reply sadly
I bought the Bassman from him a couple of months ago and I absolutely love it. It's really changed my approach to effects compared to the Twin Reverb I also use - the Bassman doesn't need OD pedals or heavy gain, just boosts and a fuzz for fun to get great sounds. I've gigged it a few times now and couldn't be happier.
The mods you've done sound really interesting. I don't use the Bass channel much so I'd be up for potentially modding it to get some different sounds out of the amp. I'll have to look in to them a bit more when I get some time
Here it is, currently living in the dining room which the Mrs isn't too happy about

Huh, clearly the Bassman isn’t as big as I imagined, it looks quite dainty, so does the tiny Jaguar and those mini pedals beside the OH MY GOD THAT CAT
