heheh...well, you never know...it might happen soon! :)
:) ..yeah, you don't tell anybody here but, from what I read when I followed the links provided on DDD's myspace, you're already a star !  :D
I don't know how it is in London but in France when you playing 300 people venues sold out, you're already an underground star !

I'm really, really happy, yeah! :)

:)

the ddd thing is really good...I have been friends with darryl for years and years....I saw the first ddd gig when he was solo + the drum machine, and helped put together the sleeves for his first two singles...

it was just weird...people for years (before ddd existed) asked why we weren't in a band together and we always said we'd kill each other!

this was in our early 20s...nowadays we're a bit older and more sensible and accepting...it was a very natural thing for me joining this band, as I've been there along the side from day one....

so yeah, he's done loads of ground work....it's nice ot be able to play to rooms full of people...I'm still in the "new guy" mode, so there's loads of work to do...we rehearse like mad...no breaks, mad times (even doing 11-2am in central london on a saturday night when everyone's out - or doing 10am Saturday morning etc)

it's nice to be in a band with someone like-minded.....hopefully we'll play France again soon...I love it there!! :)

I'm not surprised that those 10" speakers are farting out on you. I think you'd need a much more efficient, high-power rated set of speakers to handle that project. You've got Jensens there, right?

yup, reissue 10" Jensens....it's just unfortunate...in the old band I was playing more Interpol-style delayed guitar lines and they were totally sweet....for this band though they were just wrong.

ah well, I live and learn :)

Sorry if this is a repeat suggestion, but have you tried a Boogie cab? Last year, about this time, I was struggling with the 2x10 Vibrolux not being enough for louder bands, and I coupled it with a 2x12 recto cab with some positive results. I mean, it didn't change water into wine or anything like that, but it did add some depth and dimension to my sound. I felt that 3 was suddenly like 4 on the vibrato channel--not extreme, just noticeable.

They are pricey compared with other cabs, but I like the stock speakers a lot. I personally love 10s, but I feel your pain.

I'd like to try one, but they are rare and expensive here in the UK...there is a sea of Marshall 4x12 though, so I'll use one of them :)

Glad to hear the shwo went well  :)

Those videos are great ! I really appreciate  when a video is based on a strong concept/idea rather than a big budget. That's the reason why the Superfire video by GvsB is one of my favourite.

The "Wall to Wall" video really makes me want to see you live... even more !
The idea is simple but communicate the energy of the song very well.
... and I really like the song.
It wakes up my need to start another up tempo/more in your face musical project to satisfy my NINmeetsGvsBmeetsJesusLizardmeetsALotOfOtherBands side !  :)

I like the idea behind the other video.. I'm currently beginning to search for original & simple to execute ideas to make some videos that will projected for live shows and when I saw the Trojan Horse video I thought: I should have thought about that !  ::)

Now talking about the songs: I'm really impressed by the guitar sounds, especially in Wall to Wall where the guitar sound really compete with bass.
I'm curious about one thing: Do you sample yourselves live ?  I ask because I hardly see how you can reproduce the guitar layers in Wall to Wall without the help of self looping..  ???

The music is superb. Looking forward to hearing a recording done with you, as I imagine the second guitar will really push things and in the best possible way.

no...no samples whatsoever...only a drum machine track and two guitars.

we both try to play like we're two people at the same time...so we get that big sound that sounds like more than two guitarists....basicaly we don't play powerchords and stuff like that :)

Wall to Wall is fundamentaly two guitars...one doing the choppy chord sequence and the *ding* sharp sound in the end, and another guitar tuned lower, through EQs, playing an open string bassline-type line.

the open string creates the impression that there's more happening than it really is...and at some parts, we swap around what we do etc...

it's not as beefy as the recorded version live, but it's pretty close :)
