Princeton Reverb 68 reissue

Through a trade, I go a Princeton Reverb 68 reissue. The great little amp is loud. Wondering who else has one and any tips or tricks you have experimented with. Of course, the tweaker in me is wondering... do I need a 12inch speaker... I already did the external out to a 1x15 that sounded pretty good. The 68 reissues I think all sound fantastic. so if you have a deluxe, twin, or vibrolux feel free to join in.

Saw this on a tele forum. I havent tried it, and you need two channels to make it work, but I have been meaning to try it with my twin..

"RCA male jack to a 1/4" male jack. Unplug the Reverb Send cable from the back of the amp and plug it into the Channel 1 input, the guitar into channel 2. Channel 1 now becomes a 3 knob tube reverb where you can adjust the depth and tone of the verb by using the volume, treble and bass knobs on the amp. It sounds SOOO much better compared to just using the regular reverb knob (which is now disabled). The regular reverb tone is stale and generic compared to the reverb tones you can get when running thru Channel 1.. Highly recommended..."

One of the Lead Guitarists in my Band upgraded from a Ltd Edition Blues Jr., which sounded great, to a 68 Princeton.. It sounds even better..

The other Lead Guitarist uses either a vintage 60's Vox AC15 with Blue or vintage 60's Princeton.

I play Rhythm & use either a 65 RI Princeton or Vox AC15 with Blue..

We use them in different combinations depending what songs we're playing & what Guitars we're using..

Yes. Bass Player & Drummer. We are primarily a 60's British Invasion Period Band. But do play later stuff like Petty, Wilbury's, Buffalo Springfield, Byrds, 70's & some 80's.. 2 of us also play some Keyboards.. I'm the Lead Vocalist & 3 others also Sing lead on some songs as well as backup harmonies...

For small to medium Clubs they're great. We haven't played anywhere big yet. We have talked about Mic'ing them but haven't needed to yet.. We'll try that first if we play bigger venues before using our big, heavy to haul around Amps..

Awesome, I saw a three piece use a Vox AC15 with no issues with sound levels. Most of the bands I have been in are super loud.

The British Invasion Period of Music we do for the most part is dominated by the Vocals.. With a lot of Backup & Harmony Vocals.. The songs are pretty structured & mostly 3-4 minute songs. The Lead Guitar Solos aren't super long & are mainly in the Intro, Middle 8 & Outro.. Some with 2-3 Guitar Riffs thruout the song.. Like Strange Brew, Sunshine Of Your Love, Mr. Soul, 19th Nervous Breakdown, I Won't Back Down, Handle With Care.. Pretty accurate to the Records... With a few exceptions.. A variety of Fender, Gibson, Gretsch & Rics are used including 12 strings..

So the Guitars aren't super Heavy as in Heavy Metal.... So we don't need big Amps..

On close to half the songs I play Rhythm parts on my Gibson J-160E thru my AC-15..

For me, It is a very fun Band to be in!

It is worth noting that this amp is actually not a reissue. Fender took the '65 reissue amps and modded them, gave them late 60s (silverface) cosmetics to differentiate them and released them as the "68 Custom" series. They are not reissues of vintage amps.
