Is it wrong that I love my old Vox Escort busker amp so much?
A couple months ago I picked up this 70s Vox Escort "busker"amp - yes the tiny one that you'd also be able to power with batteries.
Now this locked up time thing has made me realize that I quite love this thing. It does not sound cheap or bad at all. That one tone knob gets a good setting for/with any guitar I plug into it.
My wall to wall next door neighbor works as a night shift nurse so I had to find a way to jam without being too loud. So I have this tiny (oh so great looking) amp pointed at me in the living room and it does its job pretty damn good!
And now... well I just bought another one of these to enjoy the full potential of a stereo delay pedal...
Oh well they're cheap and I highly recommend picking one up, too!
BTW yes, they CAN be used as a od/preamp into another bigger amp!
...anyone else here share the love?

It is wrong. Throw that thing in the trash along with those Birkenstocks, you troglodyte.

My first amp! It actually sounded pretty good. Especially with the late 70’s TS 808 I bought it with in the early 80’s

another supporter of them. my friend has one and it sounds pretty good. my small amp of choice is a pathfinder i got for £25. it's got it's limits but for a wee amp next to my desk, it works fine.

Got #2 now but I think the speaker's fucked.
Any recommendations?
The two have (optically, at least) two very different circuits, and one is much louder than the other!

Well not much really. Sold my Epi Firebird to get this old Ibanez. For some reason it once had the original bridge/thimble holes plugged and moved forward so it wouldn't intonate anymore. Wtf? The new bridge tailpiece was a Schaller one like Toni Iommi used or something.horseblanket wrote: ↑Sat Apr 18, 2020 10:28 amOffYourFace wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 7:02 pmnever seen or heard one before. looks cool... but not as cool as that Firebird! what's the story with that one?

I might get that fixed by a pro. For now this "max'd out" wraparound one works. Otherwise all original it seems.

Any idea what speaker is in the one that works? Are you looking for a variation in the tones between the 2 amps?
No idea what would sound good with that amp, tho, I’ve never tried one. What size speaker does it take?

It's a boost booster, to boost your boost - it makes your tone much muchier.

Thanks!
The only thing I found that apparently fits is the Jensen CH5/30 so I ordered one. Stay tuned!
Prob is, I guess the speaker is ripped. Just want it working/sounding properly.
