I didn't read all 6 pages, but I just recently acquired one of these exact amps - the 65 PRRI tweed with the 12" speaker. The only difference with mine is the previous owner swapped out the C-Rex with a Weber 12F150. I have to say, this amp with the Weber speaker is FAN-TASTIC! It's got plenty of headroom and volume. I did really enjoy the sound of the standard '65 PRRI I played the other day, but if I get this one for the cosmetics, then it'll have a 12" speaker. I have no problem trying out new speakers if I don't like the speaker it comes with, but I'm wondering if I should look into a new baffle for a 10", or is the difference between the 10" and the 12" close enough to not make that big of an issue?
I have never liked the tone of the standard PRRI - they always sounded kinda boxy to me. With this speaker it's a totally different ball game. This is the first PRRI I've ever plugged into that I actually liked.
