I got a line on a 1973 Fender Silverface twin reverb for $600.00 which is sweet however I don't have that cash on me however the guy will to take my Silvertone 1472 amp in trade plus $300.00 bones. I gotta tell you guys I went to go see the amp today and it looks really nice,no real wear on the outside from what the guy tells me its all original with except new tubes and the only hang up is that the reverb does not work which scares me a bit however I figure I could let a local tech to fix that but I don't know the cost of such a repair? WHAT SHOULD I DO?????? 

The reverb problem could be a bad tank or tube.  It's most likely a bad tube, but tanks aren't too expensive.

I'd definitely try to whittle the price down, since the reverb isn't working.  You shouldn't pay more than $500 for it, IMO.

I never even thought about the cable to the reverb unit.  Mine had that problem when I got it.  The plug was a little sloppy, and that was the only problem.

I changed my mind keeping the Silvertone 1472 it's to sweet an amp, slept on it and decided to pass on the twin reverb called the guy today and told him thanks but no thanks. I am saving my pennies after exaustive research on the Fender 57 twin reissue, to the new VOX AC30H2 combo to the new Gibson GA42RVT and just getting feedback here at the forum I've decided on a vintage Fender Vibrolux not sure what year, yeah I know I know "don't get the master volume!!" lol, its all good. what I really want is a clean amp that is pedal friendly and the twin is way to loud and the vibrolux seems like a comfortable medium sweet fender goodness not to loud and not to heavy!!!! lol  so with that said I'm pretty much done talking about amps purchases at least for a while hopefully next time you'll see some sweet vintage Fender Vibrolux pics!!
