What does four quads per channel mean?
Sorry, I was just doing a line from Don Cheadle’s character in Boogie Nights, super obscure joke. Nice QR tho!
But you guys know that's a reference within a reference, as TK421 is a Star Wars reference. So it was PT Anderson nerding out. :jacked:
All i know is that the quad reverb weighs 90lbs and a twin weighs 64lbs and I don't want to carry either of them ever again.
TK421 that to the bank.

I used to be cool, now I just complain about prices.

I agree with that. I get them where I want and then I avoid moving them at all cost.

Yeah, the scene is set in 1977.

That sounds remarkably similar to LB 421, which was the planet the alien eggs were first discovered on.

Aaron contacted me and wanted to trade this for a pretty mint one with the boost circuit and the vary rare Utah speakers instead of the normal Oxford Fender ones. It is the kind he talked about in his pretty big "In Utero" video where he shows how to get the album tone and is fairly confident that this version of the Quad was likely the one used. Here is the video. (He kept the more beat up one but gave me a more mint one he got in the mail that he unboxed in the video.)

LOL no thanks. I don't really notice the sound differences between the oxford and the Utah speakers but it is a cool piece of Fender history. I do love how Quad Reverbs sound. The extra speakers give it a fuller sound compared to my twins. The master volume works better on this than my ultra linear twin. That one just gets loud and is always clean. The quad will do breakup and natural distortion I can mix with my pedals.

In Utero is my favorite Nirvana album but I just like this amp. :)

Alot of Modest Mouse early stuff was with the Quad Reverb too I believe. Or maybe it was the Super Six...

It is funny how surprised I was with liking the sound more with this huge amp. It is basically a 4x12 cab as a combo amp. 4x12 cabs with a head are super common and great. (And much more practical since you can move the two parts separately.) I kind of like how monstrous this is. I guess it is like me. Large, heavy, and old..... LOL

Aaron is a really nice guy and I think his videos are super well made. I wish there were more. I like watching him go into details and such. :) Last time we visited he talked about me bringing my buckets of effect pedals to do a video together. (Literal Ikea buckets....) He thought we could do a "What is in there and why did you get it? What does it sound like?" sort of video for fun.
