I got my new tubes for my Blackheart, and I've read a few things on how to change tubes but I can't seem to get the old tubes out of my amp. I can't even get the cover off of the preamp tube. I've been able to push it down and rotate it but it's not getting to a point where it feels like it will come off. I'll be honest I'm scared to death of breaking the tubes but I feel like I'm putting quite a bit of force on the cover and on the power tube to try and get them to move.
Any suggestions?

Re: Having trouble changing tubes
Phew ok, they seem to be in hehe. If I ever meet Pyotr Belov though I'm going to ask him why the heck did he put the tubes BEHIND the transformers so that they would be really hard to get to and see what your doing.
Now I just have to get up enough nerve to try it out and hope nothing explodes hehe. (knocking on wood as I say that

Re: Having trouble changing tubes
Heh, I wasn't freaking quite as much as my posts sounded, but I had spent about 20 minutes trying to get the tubes out before I posted and then they suddenly popped right out. I've got big hands so working in that little space with glass objects was just a bit too much I guess heh. Try to remember what it was like the first time you changed tubes.
The good news though is that everything works, and the amp sounds great. After I let it warm up, it sound much more full and more responsive. There is a lot more high end then before as well and it breaks up a bit earlier too which iI really like.
