Attenuator for my Bassman.

Post by Abadacus » Thu May 31, 2007 4:17 pm

I absolutely love my '76 Bassman, but it is way too big for most of the smaller gigs i play. I think i can deal with the size, but this amp sounds pretty dead until the master volume is around three. What kind of attenuator should I use? I need one that, most importantly, will not damage my amp, but is also cheaper than getting a small amp like a Champ or modding a Valve Junior; which I might do if there is no attenuator in that price range.

what kind of bassman is it? i have a 72 bassman ten that i love. its a 4x10 combo. so cool.

i agree, its kinda bleh until i hit like 3. but then it starts getting really loud, and then i jumper the channels and it gets louder and spankier.

god i love bassmen.

It's a 4X10. My favorite bit about it is around 8 or 9 it gets into Led Zeppelin territory. The cleans are great for darker stuff like post-rock.
