Ceriatone jtm45 clone

anybody here tried any ceriatone stuff?

i'm thinking about getting the jtm45 clone

and running it through a 2x12 cab with some vintage 30's.  i emailed nik at ceriatone and to get the amp fully assembled in a cabinet with jj tubes would be just shy of a grand, which from what i've read about the amp on harmony central about it's quality sounds very reasonable.  and waaayyy cheaper than the actual marshall reissue.  after listening to nels live tone with wilco, that's really what i'm wanting to go for and my deluxe reverb just isn't aggresive sounding enough.  i love it and i'll hold on to it (never know when i might have to play some surf stuff again!) but that jtm45 tone... yummy!

anybody got any opinions?  i trust what you guys have to say way more than h.c.'s user reviews, so let's hear it!

I have no personal experience with Ceriatone, but have heard nothing but high praise for the quality.  The only complaints are about his using nameplates of name brand amps (esp Trainwreck) on his clones.

If I were to buy one i'd get a completed chassis w/o tubes, and buy tubes and cab locally.  Depending on what you can get them for locally it may be a lot cheaper than buying and shipping from overseas.

unfortunately, i have no source for anything other than groovetubes locally, and no source at all for cabinets.  i checked prices on the internet (mojo, etc.) and it would still be cheaper to get everything from ceriatone.  they only charge about $75 more for the full compliment of tubes, so that works for me.  i guess it's time to take the plunge!  i've got about half the bread together, should have the rest next week.  i'm stoked!

oh yeah, moonsocket, nik quoted me $974 delivered to my door and ready to play.  that, my friends, sounds like an outstanding deal.

How does that compare with the Weber kit builds? The advantage would be that they're from the US and thus you'd save on int'l shipping and possible customs charges...

The Ceriatone amps are using better quality parts for the most part.  Plus the Weber stuff is a kit whereas you can get a Ceriatone complete.

I think it's fairly easy to pay someone to assemble it (there are links on the Weber page). Ditto with the cabs - and that is going to add a lot to the foreign shipping charge if bought from Ceriatone (which is in Singapore, I believe).

I'm only mentioning this as another option - I've always heard good things about Ceriatone.

i think i'll stick with the ceriatone.  weber stuff is cool, but ceriatone has everything streamlined and for $974 everything seems very reasonable.  wish me luck guys, i think i'm going to order it next week.  unfortunately, nik said that their backordered 4 weeks.
