I have a couple of SS amps, and I really like them. I was given a Carlsbro Cobra years ago, and it has a really nice, warm overdrive. It also has a parametric mid-range control, which comes in really useful sometimes.
here's a picture of it sitting underneath my Blues Deluxe in my old house:
My first guitar amp was a Carlsbro GLX30 - a 30W, two channel 2x10 combo with reverb. I've abused it horribly over the years and it's still going strong and sounding pretty great.
I also have one of these:
An award-session 2x12 mosfet sessionette. It's massively loud and clean, and has a huge reverb on it. That's not my amp in the picture, although it looks like it.
