Re: How many effects pedals do you currently own?
Low 50’s somewhere. I was over 60 for awhile and have slowly been paring down. I have a board for me and one I keep up for my wife, they usually don’t go beyond 7 or 8 pedals.
I do move reverbs, delays and drive pedals around often, so I keep lots of them on hand. I also keep stuff around I don’t normally use on my board for recording or because it’s iconic, like wah, univibe, phasers. A buddy has a bunch of them at the moment too.
Eventually I’m going to pare it down even more, but I always decide I need something 6 months after I sell it.

TC Electronics Plethora X5, a Bad Monkey and a Behringer vintage tube overdrive (the big one with a valve in it).
So either 3 or 15 if you count the 12 options (which can be duplicated) on the X5 as "pedals".
That setup pretty much does everything I could ever need apart from a proper spring reverb, which I have on my amp.

Maybe a side thread for How many pedals do you own that you built yourself? For me that would be 1.

I have a few. Probably in the 50 range but I haven’t counted. Most sit in drawers until I need them, which is pretty rare for things not on one of my touring boards. I don’t record with pedals very often.

Re: How many effects pedals do you currently own?
I’m slowly downsizing my collection, but still have more than i’m comfortable with, at just over 50.
A few years ago, after decades of being a minimalist, i went silly and bought heaps of stuff. Then i found myself in the trap where i was listening to my gear instead of enjoying playing and being creative. Now i feel like i’ve explored the pedal market fairly thoroughly and know what kinds of thing i like, so the gradual purge of recent times is proving to be therapeutic!
I still like pedals though, and will most likely level-off in the 20-30 range.

Re: How many effects pedals do you currently own?
37, including a few Electro-Faustus standalone instruments (Photo Theremin, Blackfly), and one or two that I might not keep. And mostly EQD
I love tremolo and delay, so I've got a few of each. For dirt, I like to have one of most of the major types (muff, Tubescreamer, RAT, etc.). Reverb is a type that I'm slowly gaining more of, and honestly, I might have more reverb than delaya at this point. And I've got no duplicates of specific pedals.

Too many, based on how much I get to play…
Not enough, based on my search history and watch lists…

Re: How many effects pedals do you currently own?
100+ but falling. I don't have a lot of time to play these days, and it seems a bit of a waste having most of my pedals just sitting there not being used.
So, I've been selling them off, hopefully to people who will be able to make better use of them. I'll likely stop at around a more sensible 40-50.
I think historically I have owned nearly 400 pedals. I have pictures of most of them. I should make a collage or something...

Re: How many effects pedals do you currently own?
I've been wondering the same thing. I've tried a bunch of stuff over the years. I'd love to compile a list of everything I've ever owned (just for myself).natthu wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 2:43 am100+ but falling. Re: How many effects pedals do you currently own?
It’s particularly egregious considering that when I play, it’s almost always just boost > fuzz > maybe a phaser > space echo > amp. I don’t even have a “board” anymore… I just pick out whichever of those that I feel like playing on a given evening and go at it…
